On November 8, TBCU Chair Dr. Tina Merritt, along with Jennifer Platt, DrPH, and Genevieve Weseman, presented on Alpha-gal Syndrome (AGS) at the Bi-State Infectious Disease Conference, sponsored by the Greater St. Louis Chapter of APIC (Association of Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology). This annual conference provides continuing education for healthcare professionals, including public health personnel, family physicians, generalists, hospitalists, infectious disease specialists, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, infection preventionists, correctional nurses, school nurses, and dental assistants from Missouri and Illinois.

The conference aims to deliver the latest information on disease intervention, detection, prevention, control, and preparedness related to infectious diseases. One of its nine learning objectives this year was to “Examine current research on Alpha-gal Syndrome.”

One of TBCU’s core goals is to close the gap between research and healthcare provider awareness. We envision a future where every doctor in the U.S. knows how to diagnose and treat AGS – just as they would the flu, diabetes, or hypertension! Request a copy of the presentation today!
